Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 29, 2026

Draft. This page explains what Heycast knows about you and why. Short version: Heycast mostly shows public Farcaster data, keeps very little about you, and never sells it.

Public Farcaster data

Farcaster is public. Heycast reads public casts, profiles, channels, follows and reactions, and saves copies of public questions, answers and discussions in its database so pages load quickly. This includes your public Farcaster ID (FID), username, display name, profile picture and bio.

When you sign in

Stored in your browser

Heycast keeps a few things in your browser’s local storage, not on our servers: your signed-in profile, which casts you’ve already seen, threads you’ve hidden, saved follow suggestions, and when the feed was last refreshed. Clearing your browser data removes them.

Site analytics

We count page views with an anonymous browser ID, page path, device category, and external referrer domain. We do not count local development visits, and we respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. The admin dashboard is password protected.

Feedback on suggestions

When you act on a recommendation (for example, dismissing a suggested person or topic), we record that action with a session ID to improve suggestions. These records are deleted after 90 days.
